Wildlife Photographer and Conservation Policy Analyst

Meet Michelle

Wildlife Photography

My journey in wildlife photography has been a natural evolution of my lifelong connection to the biological world. As both an animal lover and a scientist at heart, I see the wilderness through two lenses: one that appreciates the complex harmony of ecosystems, and another wanting to capture the quiet, fleeting moments that define them.

As a visual artist, I try to capture the pulse of nature all around us. I find as much beauty in the tiny, overlooked details of a habitat as I do in the most majestic animals that roam it. While I focus my lens on all species, my deepest passion is reserved for wild horses. These animals have been our partners throughout millennia, shaping the very course of human history and survival. I strive to document their lives and the challenges they face with a commitment to respect, patience, and authenticity.

Through my work, I aim to bridge the gap between policy and heart - using imagery to inspire stewardship and moving people to protect wildlife and the landscapes they call home.

Policy Development

By combining policy expertise with visual storytelling, I strive to advance wildlife conservation through three core areas of impact:

  • Education: Demystifying legislative and policy processes through accessible learning modules and other resources

  • Collaboration: Partnering with organizations to develop evidence-based policy solutions

  • Advocacy: Equipping those who care about wildlife with the tools to drive meaningful, lasting change

Wildlife policy requires more than strong science - it demands the ability to navigate complex governance systems, competing land uses, and diverse stakeholder perspectives. I work at the intersection of research, policy, and practice to develop solutions that are ecologically and legally sound, practical and ethically responsible.

I offer specialized policy services to support effective, evidence-based wildlife conservation:

  • Integrated literature review and synthesis of scientific, legal, and management evidence

  • End-to-end policy analysis across the full policy development cycle - from issue definition to evaluation and adaptive refinement

  • Stakeholder mapping and facilitation, building alignment among multi-use land users, conservation organizations, government agencies, and Indigenous partners

  • Clear, decision-focused reporting and briefings for agencies, NGOs, and legislators

  • Policy capacity-building through targeted presentations, coaching, and modular training resources

If you are looking to translate science into practical policy solutions and build durable partnerships for wildlife conservation, I can help design and deliver the work you need.
